VFI Oils for Life CZ, based in Ústí nad Labem, was operating an outdated piston compressor that was becoming increasingly inefficient. A complete overhaul would have cost 50–60% of the price of a new machine, so the client decided to look for a more cost-effective long-term solution. This led to a bidding process in which not only price but also energy efficiency and the long-term reliability of the proposed solution played a key role.

Our collaboration began with a consultation and detailed assessment of the capacity and consumption of the existing equipment. In the bid against Atlas Copco, we won with our proposal for the Belliss & Morcom VH21 compressor, as our solution was more efficient and immediately available.
We were the only ones in Europe to have this model in stock, which allowed for installation without unnecessary delays. The project involved not only the installation and connection of the compressor, but also the installation of stainless steel piping meeting the high hygiene standards of food processing operations, complete electrical installation, and the deployment of a frequency converter to optimize machine operation based on current consumption. The project also included predictive analytics, which allow for continuous monitoring of performance and the timely detection of potential operational issues before they impact production.

Thanks to the modern compressor, the company is achieving approximately 30% in electricity savings, which translates to cost reductions of 1.5–2 million CZK per year. The project was also supported by a grant that covered roughly 40% of the purchase price, which amounted to approximately 6.8 million CZK. The new technology has thus delivered not only immediate economic savings but also greater reliability and long-term operational stability.
